In Newry, the aim was to make this living room feel lighter, more comfortable and easier to use. We began with the furniture layout, creating a generous seating area facing both the piano and the landscape beyond the windows. This gave the room two clear purposes: a relaxed living area and a separate space for music, without interrupting the natural flow through the room.

Warm neutral tones were chosen to work with the black piano and original cast iron fireplace. The hand carved fireplace was retained, with only the timber surround painted to match the skirting boards. New made to measure curtains and Roman blinds bring in more natural light, while softer upholstery, well proportioned furniture and additional lighting make the room feel brighter and more balanced.
